Virtual Run for the Fallen

Social distancing is keeping us from many of the formal events with which we would ordinarily mark the milestones of our lives. Fort Lee’s Army Community Service wants the community to know that although we’re unable to gather together for the 10th anniversary of the Run for the Fallen, this does not mean that the sacrifice of fallen service members has been forgotten. In fact, we encourage you to participate in our special Virtual Run for the Fallen, September 12 - 13. The Virtual Run for the Fallen gives all of us the opportunity to honor those who fell during service to their country while showing support of the families who’ve lost a loved one.

If you would like to submit a photograph of your fallen military member for display along the run route, please email the image to fortleerunforthefallen@gmail.com by August 31.

How to participate:

First, download and print your Run for the Fallen bib.
Download the bib here. Fill out the bib (state who you are running in memory of). Don't forget to wear your bib during your run.

Secondly, tune in to the Virtual Run for the Fallen kick-off on September 12th!
Go to the Survivor Outreach Services, Virtual Run for the Fallen facebook event page at 10 a.m. on September 12, 2020.  Join us as two very special guests kick-off the 10th anniversary of the Run for the Fallen (Virtual) with a momentous message.

Thirdly, physically participate by running or walking the Run for the Fallen run route.
The route is self guided and features large photo memorials of our fallen service members placed throughout the Fort Lee community. You can run or walk the 5k course. Make sure you wear your bib, take pictures and track your miles!  View the Run for the Fallen run route here.

Lastly, share your moments and miles with us. We want to see your beautiful pictures, tributes and your miles! We encourage all participants to post your run pictures on social media (yours and ours) and include the hashtags #fortleesos, #fortleeacs, #fortleefmwr. Also, tell us what this year's Virtual Run for the Fallen means to you. Finally, we would like to know how many miles you achieved! Take a quick moment to send us an email to fortleerunforthefallen@gmail.com and let us know how many miles you logged.
