The Lee Playhouse presents Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Alfred Uhry's beloved play, Driving Miss Daisy.
When Daisy Werthan crashes her car, her son hires Hoke Colburn to be her chauffeur. Though their relationship gets off to a rocky start, the elderly Jewish widow and her tenacious African American driver build a close friendship over a period 25 years that transcends racial prejudices and social conventions - even as a nation struggled to shake off segregation and move toward civil rights.
Performance of Driving Miss Daisy are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays, February, 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, February 4, 11 and 18 at 3 p.m.
