Reading is an adventure of the imagination and that is certainly reflected in the theme of this year's Summer Reading Program: “It’s Showtime at Your Library." The mission of the Summer Reading Program is to help families bridge the “summer learning gap” and the Fort Lee Community Library certainly has a summer-load of fun planned to help keep your kids interested in reading. The fun includes a magic show, family movie nights, a free t-shirt, a game night and there's even an app for your phone! Open to ALL ages, children and adults can read books and complete activities to earn prizes.
Summer readers are invited to attend the weekly meeting at events held at Clark Fitness Center, at which the children will read stories, do fun craft projects and exercise with library staff and Soldier volunteers. These are the dates of those weekly meetings: June 19 & 26, and July 10, 17, 24 & 31, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. (There is no meeting the week of the Fourth of July).
The Fort Lee Community Library will also host a series of Family Movie Nights in the Bunker Hall Cafeteria at 6 p.m. on June 28, July 12 & 19, and August 2; . Scheduled movies include: Black Panter, Justice League: Gotham City Breakout, Doctor Suess's Cat in the Hat, Peter Pan, Pocahontas, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Beauty and the Beast, Robots and Ice Age.
There is also a Family Game Night scheduled in the Bunker Hall Cafeteria on Tuesday, July 16, 5 to 7 p.m.
