Note: This event has already passed.

This landmark drama was one of the first on Broadway to examine African-American life on the cusp of the civil rights era. Inspired by the playwrights’s own family’s experience in Chicago in the 1930s, A Raisin in the Sun has become a classic in the canon of American theater. This play tells the story of a lower-class black family’s struggle to gain middle-class acceptance on the southside of Chicago in the 1950s.
