Kayaking on the Appomattox

Get your heart rate pumping while paddling past some of the most historic waterways of the south when Outdoor Recreation hosts Kayaking on the Appomattox, May 14 through August 1. Kayaking is not only an adventure - it is a real workout! Layout and route of the trip will be provided by Outdoor Recreation. Here is our summer schedule:

 

Select Thursday Afternoons:

May 14 and July 16. Participants must RSVP by 12 p.m. of the day of the scheduled session. Participants should arrive at Rosalyn Landing at 5:30 p.m. Trip departs at 5:45 p.m.

 

Select Saturday Mornings:

June 13 and August 1. Participants must RSVP by 5 p.m. Friday, the day before the scheduled session. Participants should arrive at Rosalyn Landing by 10:00 a.m. Trip departs at 10:15 a.m.

 

Cost is $40 per session.  These sessions are an introduction to kayaking on calm inland water, perfect for flatwater paddling.  Families are welcome to participate. All equipment will be supplied at Roslyn Landing upon arrival. Equipment includes personal floatation device (PFD), paddles and kayaks.  Weight restrictions do apply.
