Hidden Gems of Fort Gregg-Adams

It’s a dreaded fact of the permanent change of station move, you’ve learned the ins and outs of your losing installation and you’re looking like a deer caught in the headlights at your gaining installation.

Where do I go for the best grilled chicken sandwich, who has the shortest lines for lunch and what’s there to do for fun around here? Don't worry, your Family and MWR team is here to help!

First, be sure to have these resources at your fingertips. The Digital Garrison App has upcoming events, turn-by-turn directions, and more! Don't leave home without it! Also, be sure to check out our webpage for a full calendar of events, articles like this and more! Finally, like us on Facebook or Instagram. We love to do giveaways through our social media!

You may not need help finding the big spots on post like the installation’s fitness centers or Army Community Service but do you know about the dog park near where your dog can run unfettered and make new friends?

The Dog Park is an off-leash area for dogs within the Fort Gregg-Adams community. The park is open sunrise to sunset and is located on Battle Drive behind the DMV location. A self-service Barks and Bubbles Pet Wash is located next to the park. Tokens can be purchased at Outdoor Recreation.

If you’ve stayed at Gregg-Adams Lodging, you may know about the Sustainer’s Pub. Nested within the Lodge, it features flat screen televisions, drink specials, weekly trivia nights and much more. Hours of operations vary based on schedule activities.

Be sure to stop by the Leisure Travel Office located in Building 9024 near the Gregg-Adams Club. They will help you with great ideas to have fun both locally but also throughout the region. The great thing about Fort Gregg-Adams is the distance to Virginia Beach, Washington D.C. or the mountains. Make the most out of your time here!

The Auto Crafts Center located on Battle Drive behind the dog park is equipped with vehicle lifts, bay space and tools and the facility allows patrons to perform minor vehicle repairs. The self-help facility has a trained instructor on duty to provide automobile repair assistance. Patrons may use tools to assist with repairs while on the premises. Short- and long-term storage is available.

Fort Gregg-Adams’s family entertainment facility is the Ten Strike Bowling Center. It’s by far the best bowling center in the area with 30 lanes, adult and youth league play, an arcade area and the Action City Grille featuring a variety of food and drink options. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned bowler, this place offers something for everyone.
