1. What is the purpose of the Civilian Loan Program?
The program provides short-term, interest-free financial assistance to eligible Fort Lee DoW civilians and NAF employees experiencing a catastrophic emergency that creates an immediate housing need.
2. Who is eligible to apply?
Full-time civilian employees, including those in probationary status, are eligible. Seasonal and intermittent employees are not eligible.

Eligible employees may receive an interest-free loan of up to $1,500.

Funds are issued by check only. The check is made payable directly to the creditor and given to the employee for delivery.

9. How much will my monthly payment be?
Monthly payments are calculated as: Loan amount ÷ 11 months (22 pay periods).

Once a complete application and all required documents are submitted, the CWF team will process the request within 3-5 business days due to the command review process.
13. What happens if I leave federal employment before the loan is repaid?
You must immediately repay the remaining balance by cash or check. If not paid, CPAC will attempt to recover the debt from final wages or lump-sum leave. If recovery is not possible, the CWF Council may write off the loan with CG approval.

16. Does the Civilian Loan Program pay for food?
No. The program does not cover food expenses. Loan funds may only be used for approved housing-related needs, such as rent, mortgage payments, or temporary lodging due to a qualifying emergency.
